Presentation on Chinese religion and revolution at the Max Planck Institute workshop

Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity (Germany), where I worked as a research fellow in 2016-17, held a workshop on Chinese Religions in the Age of Massive Urbanization on June 6-7, 2018. I did a presentation on “In the Name of Revolution: Patriotism, Overseas Chinese and the Reshaping of a Buddhist Temple in a Fujian Qiaoxiang.”

I thank Professor Peter van der Veer and Max Planck Institute for inviting me, and definitely enjoyed the event with scholars who have been working on Chinese religion around. Excited to returned to Göttingen and caught up with Andrea, my former landlady, and many old friends. The town is extremely fascinating in summer.
